When I was working at a hospital before covid muzzled everyone they would base the yearly bonus ($500) on how often employees were giving "warm welcomes" to patients and other employees in the halls. It meant smiling and saying hello to everyone you pass. Some people were supposedly watching at times and recording how often it happened. If the hospital as a whole wasn't giving enough the bonus would decrease. Smiles are supposed to be genuine, they can tell!

I was called a socialist for suggesting that employers pay their employees a respectful wage for the work they are doing. If I'm busting my ass in your understaffed and high stress workplace I should be getting paid appropriately and not be getting your retarded ass base pay rate while I do the work of 3-4 people.
