Pretty much every town and city has it's own variety of tacos and even the same type, say Pastor, are different depending on the taqueria and region. If you never had a good taco de barbacoa, taco de carnitas, taco de tripitas, taco buche, taco de lengua, taco de cabeza, taco rib eye con rajas y chicharron de queso, taco de chicharron con pella, taco de pescado, tacos de camaron, etc...you never had real tacos. Those in the picture are not real tacos...and yes mexicans love them because they are tastier than 90% of pretty much all food and can be from dirt cheap to moderately expensive.

If you want to know whats the average home food you go to a cocina economica and you'll get an idea of the regular food that people have at homes. Those are great when you are hangover, tho I don't know if better than barbacoa de cabeza...would probably be tied for me.
