Germany has dominated art, science, philosophy, literature, and pretty much everything there is to dominate throughout the history of the West. It is mind-boggling how one nation has produced more talent, more geniuses, more brilliance than the rest of the world combined. The fact that Goethe, Bach, Beethoven, Kant, Hegel, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, and Heisenberg were German is already too suspicious to be true, but the list goes on and on. Germany's output makes the rest of the world a joke.

It's the opposite of that. Germany has been a massive underachiever, historically. While their peers have been conquering the globe they sat there impotently bickering amongs each other for millenias. Culturally they were the the birthplace of some of the worst ideologies ever concieved like protestantism and communism and their dry, depressing, self-hating, nihilistic and materialistic dead-end philosophy shows very well with people like Schopenhauer.

It was France and despite their high achievements, they still did not reach the greatness of the German people. I don't think it has to do with quantity, more with quality. In the case of Spain, despite a high IQ and a large population, the country has achieved almost nothing intellectually. The Ashkenazis are the only people comparable to the Germans in terms of accomplishments and they have done so in fewer numbers.
