When is going to happen, and how? Will Texas or Carlifornia become independent states just like post-Soviet nations due to historical and economic power?
Some parallels: >Weakness of political institutions >Economic slowdown >Youth disastified with it's current economical system >Massive political polarization and division >Defeated in Afghanistan >Decreased Geopolitical Influence
America has capitalism, a bill of rights, a declaration of independence. Soviet Russia didn't even have willing people
Landon Gomez
You think America has wiling people? Put this whole union up to a plebiscite and watch it be disbanded.
Jason Bailey
Now you are using your head
Oliver Howard
The precursors signs of collapse in the Soviet union was a lack of investment in production, mostly oil and coal extraction and agriculture, lax work laws that allowed 20% of the population to be paid without working, a strongly negative commercial balance and debt growing out of control.

Best case scenario: Troubles 2: American Boogaloo. Sectarian killings and bombings resulting in a national divorce
Worst case scenario: fall of Yugoslavia. Militias carving out spheres of influence over bloody battles.
Wildcard scenario: Rwandan genocide. Leftists start mass killings of all dissidents, leading to a counter-genocide and resulting in a Paul Kagame type figure taking over
Easton Howard
Kind of like America now.
Joshua Walker
I believe the wildcard scenario is moat likely in the US.
Kayden White
Major differences >US states do not claim correspond to nations, SSSR republic did. US can not be split into nation-states because it is relatively homogenous. >SSSR had clearly defined sphere of influence with clearly defined moments when they lost it. US empire is much softer >Lot of Soviet "deep state" wanted capitalism in order to privatize resources into their own pockets
Dominic Collins
Pure coincidence. I am sure the same causes will lead to a different outcome this time. After all, history have stopped.
Jackson Peterson
USSR lost cold war for the same reason Germany lost ww2. Asmall group of nations can't resist combined might of the industrial world. As long as US has support of majority Europe and asian tigers they'll remain dominant, as long as they remain dominant they'll have it. It'll take a large shake up to change it Over 90% of USSR citizens wanted to keep the union
Angel Davis
>muh america will fall! its just like our ussr! people were risking their lives to leave your shithole for 20 years before it collapsed.
Parker Parker
>one day You mean like right now?
Easton Edwards
Jewish commissars and their armies of white traitors, POC's and trannies genocide all of the white people in America. Annual month of celebration from then on about how the good guys defeated Nazis and white supremacists. Country degenerates into sub-Africa shithole. Jews leave to infect and kill some other country after looting America for all it's worth. America fades into history.
Cooper Kelly
>(((Union))) of Soviet Socialist Republics Vs >[[[United]]] States of America
The square brackets represent based/chad here.
Lucas Thompson
>USSR lost cold war for the same reason Germany lost ww2 Being bombed to the stone age and having millions of soldiers walking on their land?
>As long as US has support of majority Europe and asian tigers Yeah... About that...
>as long as they remain dominant Have you seen their president?
Xavier Lee
Texas is probably the closest one, but it's actually becoming less and less likely as it's slowly becoming a blue state.
Angel Stewart
The US is in the process of collapse right now. It's a slow process but it's happening. The US will drag much of the world with it. Some places much worse than others.
Lucas Sullivan
They got bombed because they had two allies of note vs USSR, China, US, British and French empires plus shitton of minor powers. No nation could pull that off, save maybe US. During cold war we had to outspend US and Europe without any allies of note. Gorbachev just sped it up It seems to hold for now. This war might alter the balance in either direction
Christopher Flores
Every empire has its lifespan, and I believe that the US is reaching the end of it. I don’t think collapse is something that you can predict, but chances are it will be a very slow process and most people won’t even realize it’s happening. All most people will know is that their standard of living keeps getting lower, their money is worth less, everything is more expensive, jobs are getting harder to find, and that the big man on TV swears he knows how to make it better but everything keeps getting worse.
We will have people who cling on to their memories of the American empire when it was at it’s peak, tell their children how great it used to be, and promise that things will spring back one day, but of course it will never come. The empire will continue to lose power and influence, the people will continue to suffer, and the people that run it will continue to stuff their pockets and flee for greener pastures
Isaac Butler
Economic slowdown in US means that people won't be able to afford new car or smartphone, Economic slowdown in Soviet union meant looming threat of starvation.
Xavier Ramirez
>threat of starvation US is under threat of having their meat replaced with bugs and soya replacements.
