The most intelligent way to handle this is a hybrid type vehicle that uses gas mostly.
Except it has a battery the engine charges and when that battery reaches 100% it switches over to the battery, until the battery is 0% and then it switches back to gas recharging the battery. The car shouldn't rely on the battery it's just there to save you some gas from time to time as it charges and is depleted inside the vehicle. You shouldn't need it to run the car. Your car should never depend on it. But it could switch on from time to time and save you gas.
And you'd NEVER need to charge it.

this is made all the more worse when you consider just how many people own teslas kek. imagine if we ALL owned teslas? you would have to wait several months before you could charge your car, if the grid didnt totally collapse before them

At least with a hybrid vehicle your battery can use fuel, the battery is recharged by the engine running fuel. You have a way to move.
