I'm an American software architect. I've been doing this for twelve years and I've found my calling.
I have two full-time, 40hr per week jobs. One pays $75/hr and the other pays $90/hr. In both roles, I'm just the white guy who speaks intelligibly with clients. I have offshore Indian teams who do all the work and never say a word to clients, even though they attend meetings. By and large, they are paranoid about speaking. And they listen to whatever I say. But they are barely competent.
I'm making a small fortune managing these idiots. This isn't good for either of my consulting clients. But they asked for it and they are paying for it.
I feel slightly guilty, but I can't imagine a path toward change.
>One pays $75/hr and the other pays $90/hr. poorfag

CRT monitor with windows xp? and Smartphone on desk.

Fair enough. I'm doing my best, user. I have sons. Give me a break?
Brandon Adams
I have the utmost contempt and disrespect for what you do.
Benjamin Young
i felt the same before when i just started working in banking trying to sell extra shit to clients but i stopped caring. fuck society, honestly. don't feel bad because the next day it could be you in the gutter
Brandon Johnson
Kill yourself technigger
Aiden Morris
>contempt and disrespect You know, I have a hard time with self respect these days. Really. I used to feel better about my contributions. Honestly. Now I'm just getting by.
What do you do, user?
Christian Fisher
You didn’t really think OP wasn’t lying did you? You didn’t really think he had an actual job did you?
Christopher Morris
welcome to IT in today's Fortune 500 companies, this is how it is now.
Jaxson Watson
>Kill yourself technigger That's a little unreasonable, don't you think, user? How do you feed your family? Man to man, homestly.
Isaac Cooper
2x full time jobs with the pay he described were a dead give away. If you are making 75 or 90 burger dollars an hour you would only work one job.
Zachary Lopez
You and OP are part of the reason why we are in this shit. Your "if not me, it would be someone else scamming people" is at the same time lowering the quality of the industry, causing disrespect towards IT, and depriving actual smart hard working people from having a job. You are scum. Barely better than the indian scammers you employ.
Levi Jones
tell that to my boss which is an even bigger piece of shit and who would make my life hell and replace me if i voiced even the slightest discontent
Parker Barnes
>had an actual job did you It isn't that important for me to prove it but, if you're willing to listen... I had three until recently. One full time permanent and two corp-to-corp on 1099. I got fired from one.
This is a common reality in my industry now.
What do you do?
Jason Thompson
Fortune 500 companies can suck it up and pay people what they're worth. If they think indians can produce a good enough product, they can keep scamming until the whole system implodes because the code quality is s shit it's riddled with bugs and security holes. You'll eventually get hacked or have a critical bug and that will not only be the end of you, but also cause massive pain to the industries that relied on your products. Which I guess is your goal. Now if you say this is just what you need to do to survive, I don't think you have an ounce of morals or empathy left, because you have the same mindset as scammers, criminals, thieves, murderers.
Julian Watson
>you would only work one job. If I were you I might. But I'm struggling to keep up with inflation here. I've made mistakes with my finances. And I have children. Fuck off to another thread. Maybe your life is easy. Probably it isn't.
Camden Peterson
Bump!
Jayden Taylor
I run a business that employs people from the place where I live, which is in the west, and I have strict standards on code quality. I lose business to scum like you that outsources to Indians and pockets the change. And people don't trust us exactly because the entire industry is fucked.
Tyler Williams
>people don't trust us exactly because the entire industry is fucked Respect.
