Any anons know what is going on in Lysychansk? I was relieved when I heard Ukraine is pulling out, but now I’m hearing contrary info. There doesn’t seem to be any reason not to withdraw except political considerations.
Our officials say city isn't encircled and there is fighting in city. Prolly it will be Severodonetsk number 2, they will overtake eventually but at what cost.
There are conflicting reports, as little as 3 hours ago the BBC said they were still fighting there but then 6 hours ago I saw reports that they had already pulled out.
I think that they either have withdraw or about about to.

Good. I saw a video from Skynews interviewing troops there. They were very unhappy about withdrawing and their commanders seemed very sensitive about the subject. That’s good though. You don’t want troops who are eager to retreat but determined to fight for every inch and have to be persuaded by their commander of what is necessary.
It’s not worth defending from 3 sides under threat of encirclement. The point is that the Russian offensive has been so slow and the cauldron so shallow that they’ve allowed the enemy to withdraw, which is a big failure. I can’t think of a single encirclement the whole war besides Mauripol, and that was because the Ukrainians allowed themselves to be encircled there.

The abandonment of the main enemy forces of Lisichansk is confirmed. It is possible that some small lagging units remain in the city and its environs, but the main forces hastily withdrew with losses in the direction of Seversk. The city is basically already controlled by our troops. Conclusions: 1) the victory of our troops; 2) the enemy was defeated, but again not destroyed, withdrew in a relatively organized manner, with battles, in stages, avoiding encirclement.
I must remind you that I myself personally assumed the completion of the liberation of Lisichansk 5 days ago ... (And some people say that I am a pessimist!).
