Having that said, starting strength. If you don't wanna go to a gym then you could get by with convict conditioning (+dips and replace the retarded shoulders section with pike pushups)

I load up 40-50lbs in a backpack, and carry a 15-20lb dumbbell in each hand for a mile either as an addition to my cardio, or as my cardio in addition to weightlifting and its been great for burning calories, increasing strength, and the best thing is it doesn't feel like working out necessarily, your mind just goes "Gee I feel much heavier, but I am walking, and I have a destination to get to, so I shall make it"
Or I put around a 20lb sandbag in a cooler and carry it out in front of me while wearing the 50lb backpack.
Either way moral is add 50-100lbs to you body in one way or another, and carry that weight a good distance. The heavier you go obviously the shorter distance you will be able to travel.
I'm sure this might come in handy when SHTF as well ya know. Happy gains user

Doing a few repetitions of exercises that usually don't translate into real life situations is pointless. I think it's common knowledge by now that muscles slow you down and that training for hypertrophy is not that good.
