Getting it from the great lakes would be a retarded idea due to the habitat disruption in the area from water loss and potential to expose it to invasive wildlife, I'd recommend just syphoning directly from the Mississippi river much further down stream, you'd have to pipe it further but the immense rain coverage would cover the difference when it comes to water level, plus more revenue for Mississippi cause that place is a craphole infrastructure wise
