And on the other hand, if any trait reaches such high proportions in a population (10, 25, 50%...) with no marked geographical or social distinctions and no precise cut off (e.g. are we talking about people who are >1% "Sephardi"? >10%? 25%? etc.), I don't get how it can stay at that level and not have reached 100% over the centuries. I don't know if I explained well but I'd appreciate it if someone more knowledgable in population genetics could explain. It's like that statistic about a quarter of Swedes descending from Charlemagne, it sounds to me like a crock of shit.
