finland and sweden got invited to join nato the last 50 fucking years. The only thing that will decide if finland and sweden are in NATO are finland and sweden themselves. But the way russia is behaving now is probably a good time to join up. Where before they didn't even have to consider it.
Had putin not done what he would have done there would hell freeze over before sweden and finland join NATO, the irony is not lost on me as a dane, we have said to finland and sweden that maybe it could be good idea to be in NATO, but they have always said no and we respect that. The way russia behaving is if they not in NATO and russia declare war on them, they are on their own same as ukraine is.

I respect finland and sweden for that they decide for themselves instead of just join NATO, they have gone to great lenghts to appease russia who is just threatening them in return.
And let us be crystal clear, the only one who decide if finland or sweden or both join nato or not, is finland and sweden people, same as the last 50 years where they have not been in nato and nobody has forced or tried to coerce them to be in NATO either.
And this aggresion against russia is the only thing that could possibly make that happen, so if they do join NATO it is not because of NATO but because of russia. NATO has always respected sweden and finland of having their own arrangement with russia. Which is what is so funny that had putin not threaten them like he has so many times before and during this conflict with ukraine, this could have never ever been even on the table..
