I found a DVD copy of it on the ground in 2017 while walking from my apartment to the mailboxes to get the sheet of acid I ordered off the dark web. Still haven't watched it, I think it's in my closet somewhere.

Good movie. Many people gloss over some major issues.

Dereks change isn't because he no longer holds certain views. He simply noticed that most Neo-Nazis have no principle and are degenerate. He was being used by someone else and ended up in prison.
He decided he didnt want to be a slave to hatred anymore, his only goal was to fix his family and move out. If the movie was anti-racism, why would they include the final scene of when u know what happens

Cool when stomps the nigger in the curb and directly calls out the Jew in his home. Most other parts were shit.

I've read that there was supposed to be a scene at the very end of Vineyard shaving his head with an angry face, as if he regained his former self. But, Edward Norton said he would not allow all of his prior scenes to be used in the film unless that particular scene was removed.

Derek was too much an idealist. He got mad because his supposed white supremacist pals in prison were dealing drugs to the colored people and he felt that was a betrayal of the white supremacist ideology. But when in prison, you cannot be so dogmatic. You do what you have to in order to survive, preferably without being raped. Derek was stupid, openly rebuked his people, and as a result he was left without a group and subsequently raped by perverts. Was it really worth it Derek? Were your principles worth it?
At the end of the movie he seemed to have learned his lesson that not everything is black and white (no pun intended), as he did meet a decent black person in prison, and that black guy did use his influence with the brothas to keep Derek from further harm (after the rape). He learned that not all of "his" people were good (Cam was using the youth to do his bidding but was unwilling to take the risk himself and was therefore a coward) and not all of the other side was bad. But then his black teacher tried to use Derek to do his bidding, with no care for Derek's well-being, after he got out of prison. So in the end, the lesson was, your own people will use you, the "good" people on the other side will use you, and sometimes you need to be pragmatic to survive, even if you have to somewhat set aside your principles to do so.

Is that any different from the Alt Right (Spencer, TRS) claiming to be pro-White and then metaphorically raping Whites by leading them into honeypots like Cville and promoting the kike-run Scamdemic?

Never watched it, never will, hate that faggot Norton too much.
