The PFP (its manifestation today is known as the Democratic Alliance, recently led by Hellen Zille) supporters were for one-man-one vote. They were the official opposition in parliament for many years.

You should view what happened during Apartheid as a mass internal uprising against the government on par with the Arab Spring and not simply a riot here and there. Look back at the riots that happened last year in Gauteng and KZN provinces then imagine that happening on an almost weekly scale from late 1970 onwards. Foreign companies were threatening leave South Africa if the Apartheid government couldn't guarantee financial compensation due to damages from riots.

People in the US and Europe were losing their shit over mask mandates and Covid regulations not so long ago. The difference is that US(except blacks during Jim Crow)and citizens in western Europe have rights and can vote unlike the majority of South Africans during Apartheid.

Here's a funny Story about Rhodesia.
I just read a book by John Coey called A Martyr Speaks. It is the journal of an American Marine that went and fought in Rhodesia and died.
He said this in the book.

Rhodesia ALSO could have won in another way. A MUCH MUCH easier way. They could have just STOPPED sending food aid to Zambia and Mozambique. Zambia would have starved out in a month or two. Mozambique would have lost the fight.

Similarly it causes boys to grow up seeing other boys as enemies (competitors for sex) rather than friends, leading to them either becoming socially withdrawn or becoming feminized due to only having female friends. There's also the stress of needing to find a wife before all the other men have used her etc that puts a ticking clock on relationships which ramps up sexual competition and again causes men to need to view the men around them as enemies.
