I've recently started seeing more and more of them and it makes me sick, what purpose does a short legged cat have in this world? Can this thing even climb stuff, hunt mouse and do other normal cat activities? It will probably die if it lands on its feet. It happens naturally, i have about 10 or 15 or so ferals on my farm and occasionally you'll see a munchkin. I've seen two but they left or were eaten by hawks. hawks eat kittens.

Munchkin cats are actually difficult to breed because they're midgets and not created by breeding. So even if you breed two Munchkins you're still likely to end up with mostly normal legged cats.

it's a genetic abnormality though, not exclusively from selective breeding. the selective breeding only raises the chance of it for those wanting that cat. so ferals exist outside of it, and they probably die, whatever, we can't help it. But the ones born from selective breeding ARE gonna be cared for by humans, so their hunting capabilities aren't necessary. and they aren't cheap so it's not a thing wheere their owner will be like "well fuck it" and leave it on the street
