When I see black workers at Walmart who seem to not hate their job, I wonder why they aren't on welfare since they could probably get away with it. I have to think that lots of people actually enjoy having a job, earning money, having something to do rather than sit on their ass all day long.

I think the problem isn't so much the hour total but the lack of flexibility. For example I can only take x amount of days off via PTO and if I need more, it's asking too much, regardless of the fact that some weeks I put in 50+ hours.

And I'm strictly talking about lower middle class jobs, obviously any job that requires a college degree or higher is super flexible and will give their employers whatever they want. It's the construction jobs and blue collar jobs that employees basically become lite slaves to because they are looked down on as replaceable and really just labor fodder
