Fun fact: lightbulb creation was the start of planned obsolescence. The lightbulbs originally designed by Tesla and Edison had a shelf life of 100+ years. All the heads of the lightbulb manufacturing industry got together in Geneva or someplace like that about 100 years ago and decided to use cheaper materials to make them last only about 5... so that you'd have to keep buying more. Isn't capitalism great?

I wonder what the overhead would be on a trip to Dubai... I have 40 or so lightbulbs in my house. Is there other shit there that would make it worth the while? Sex tourism or good drugs or something?
