Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll buy a plane ticket, take out your secondary passport, put it in your pocket, and fly off to Europe or America. Your Arab neighbors will find your empty settlements, elated and relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable confusion and disappointment. They’ll bury your statehood with a flag marked with Arab symbols, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know another colonial state is buried there. Your nationhood will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy is a region that is unmistakably Arab.
