no. if the russian side is committed to defend their autonomy, ukraine's sovereignty will be swept away and there is nothing anyone in ukraine can do about it, the numbers are just not there, NATO tech deliveries do not change that outcome. it only depends on what russians want.

it's callous of the west to put russians (not just putin but russians) into a situation where they have to just between ukrainian freedom and their own. there's no doubt about how this conflict will end and like in syria it will leave behind a devastated country. not that the west really cares about it.

Right now looks like Russia is winning quite significantly, especially since Ukraine was supposed to be doing a counterattack against Herson but now they're telling to evacuate even Mykolaiv because life is not safe there.

But we'll see. The only copium for Ukraine here is that Russia is now using their stockpiles in a burst that they can't maintain. Or that Ukraine can still keep the defenses alive for long enough (months-years) so that the people in eastern Ukraine get tired of living on poverty/hopelessness and rebel, but I think they're already quite used to living like shit so that's probably not going to change much.
