How in depth and how much time should I devote to Syria's pre-war history? I was thinking of starting part 1 off with a diddy about the Ottoman era up to the 2000s, going over notable things that tie into the current civil war's origin. Though I worry I may also need context for the Ottoman era itself. Also worried this may be spending too much time on the roots rather than the conflict itself.
What does /sg/ think? I'm making the definitive documentary on the conflict after its taken up literal years of my headspace.
