Its supposed that HIMARS are nuke and long range missile capable, that's why piggynski begged for them (going full retard and attack Moscow with them). The US wighed the risk on hand him over the hardware (with the long range ammunition). They are the midground between a grad and a smerch, but tracked. Their range is quite bad unless you fire cruiser missile like ammo, with cruiser missile like prices, that are worse than cruiser missiles.

Supposedly it has some pretty advanced targetting shit. Like a mini radar that tracks the shell trajectory and feeds the data back into the system for corretion. Along with a very high rate of fire for this kind of gun. The chassis is funny though. Looks like 1950's truck. But still gets you in and out of firing positions quickly.

Same range, slightly more modern than Smerch with standard munitions. With special Ammo (Advanced tactical missiles) can reach targets up to 300 km. Even if Ukrainians get the Advanced munition, it would basically give them a shittier Iskander tactical missile launcher.
Is it a game changer? Russia has dozens of Iskanders operating in the area. If 4 Himars were so amazing then Russia would have already won with their 8× the same weapon system.
