pretty much what i wanted to write. Marx was very intelligent, even philosophic, his critiques of capitalism on point but the world and especially russians is full of opportunists and not intelligent abstract thinking idealists like him, Engels, maybe even lenin and trotzky. Stalin was a low life criminal and everywhere where socialism has been tried has devolved into late soviet style circumstances (except maybe national socialism if you count that). Egalitarian societies are not possible on a large scale, it's only the name and goal of the social hierarchy changes, you can't flatten a hierarchy. Planned economy is also very predisposed to human error. A state like structure just like big companies do everything worse and less efficient.
