Space would be a great place to expand but the harshness is relentless compared to the Oasis on earth. Take just one problem like the radiation from being outside our magnetosphere gonna take a lot of crazy powerful tech which we don't have right now to make it like earth. People wouldn't last year's in that environment everyone would die of cancers untill we solve just that problem we are stuck no way to reproduce in a radiation riddled environment.
