When the founding fathers wrote the 2nd amendment the Pennsylvania long rifle was a much more accurate weapon than the brown Bess used by British army troops. It was much more accurate and deadly. The British were forced to march in mass formations, and fire massed volleys because their weapons were so inaccurate.

This is the most important part of the 2nd amendment that has been overlooked all our lives because we have never had evil immoral criminal communists disguised as the democratic party trying to install a dictatorship upon us. The founding fathers recognized quite clearly that evil immoral criminal politicians like Joe Biden and the democrats would be willing to use the military as their personal army against the citizens and therefore the citizens needed to be able to arm themselves against this to defend their freedoms and the Constitution.

The Revolutionary War was made up of European-style pitched battles with both sides fighting in massed formations, not some weird rip-off of Vietcong guerilla battles. That part is pure American myth and does not reflect the reality that we beat the Brits at their own game.
