There was a time when admitting to browsing Reddit in an OP was a bannable offense. These retards destroyed their brains and impulse control with porn (rage porn and actual porn) that the only threads that get responses are stupidity from reddit and twitter. If you just enforced the sticky and started filtering for and banning anything that had to do with just those two websites, the quality of posting would drastically.

A few of the subreddits aren't too bad, inb4 go back yadda yadda etc etc. r/conspiracy and a few other niche ones have in-depth and constructive discussions. But to answer your question, a lot of it has to do with the karma/internet points bullshit which encourages appealing to the 'common opinion'. Most of the userbase is also absolutely festering with the Dunning-Kruger effect.
Moderation is another shit-stain since you can easily get range-banned from many subs at once.

I quite frankly go on there to see the vox populi but then I realize that this is in fact some sort of insane echo chamber that surely does not represent that, nor anyone for that matter. There is no way that that is in fact anywhere near real world thought or experience.

I did consider this angle. The possibility that this is just a mass demoralization angle by some sort of overarching entity but I'm curious how something like that can go down, especially after the whole fake Russiagate nonsense from like 5 years ago. Surely this would have galvanized anyone claiming so preposterous to indeed start digging further to find that missing Chinese influence link.
