I'll counter are argue that the reason he is silent is because he isn't playing into the usual Liberal gun-debate trap. O'Toole lost the last election almost squarely on the OIC trap trudeau laid out for him that he walked right into. O'Tooles response stabbed his pro-gun base in the back and handed them to the PPC and he didn't gain a single anti-gun urban vote.
