There are a number of factors that contribute to crime rates rising throughout the USA. These include economic inequality, poverty, and lack of opportunity. Additionally, racism and discrimination continue to be major problems in our country. African Americans, in particular, continue to face significant barriers to success in many areas of life. This includes education, employment, and housing. When people feel hopeless and trapped, they are more likely to turn to crime.
