as a consequence of the war in Ukraine. Even countries that can grow food will starve from lack of fertilizer, they won’t be able to produce the same yield. The population of Egypt is 100,000,000. I wonder where they’ll all go?
Are you ready user, how big is your food stock and how long will it last?
user, all the fucking crops are IN THE GROUND RIGHT NOW. We know how much food is growing globally, we have a pretty fucking good idea of what kind of yields we are going to get from those crops.
There WILL be a famine starting fall, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
Obviously the US will be fine, because we don't import shit for food, except luxury goods.
Yes. However, look to energy exports (coal, gas, etc) for a preview of what may unfold here. The federal usurpers seek to fix domestic prices, which in turn places incentives to export locally produced commodities for better returns when compared with domestic markets, in this case potentially food.
Granted Australia is not like shithole nations that can't feed themselves (China, most of Africa, etc) the policy settings around how food production is handled in the coming couple years will be interesting. It will be a jostle between the free market being permitted to express itself (lol) and increased government interventionism and "regulation." Expect tax payer funded buoying of local producer incomes should price fixing be introduced.
Government knows best, though! More government to fix things!

Let's hope you're right, user. I don't want to see the Chinese literally eating each other for Christmas.
