Texas would be able to handle it's own immigration issues, if unfettered from the US federal government. Most Mexicans in Texas, actually support fairly stiff immigration policy. It wouldn't be the divisive and racially charged issue that most believe it would be.
War with the US would be another issue. It's worth noting though that Texit flags have been flown in Russia. Folks might be surprised at just how many friends Texas might have, including a whole lot of non-Texan Americans.
Yeah no surprise there. I'm sure Russia (and China) would be thrilled by a civil war in the US. Getting actual supplies to the secessionists might be tricky, though, with both US and NATO enforcing sanctions. But I guess NATO will have there hands full with Putin advancing into Europe while US is occupied at home.
