Yea I’ve always been suspicious of the Vatican. What keeps me being nominally Catholic is stuff like Fatima. And seems like Catholic priests are the ones who always perform exorcisms, and Jesus said something along the lines of “demons can’t cast out demons” when the Pharisees accused him of using black magic to perform His exorcisms. At the same time, the Vatican is so engulfed in Pedo scandals right now and has been for decades so it’s not as if the Catholic Church is the pinnacle of Christian civilization right now or anything. Catholic apologists usually explain the Pedo stuff by saying “if the Catholic Church is the true Church then it would make sense for Satan to attack it”. Not really sure what to make of that, though.
