It's like an 'on again, off again' thing. Either they put in a lot of effort to get a photo that looks good (with lighting, angles, makeup) and apply filters. Or if they're lazy, don't think they'll ever pass, they use avatars (like some anime girl). As long as they're looking at something they feel happy with, they can 'believe' they're women.
