The Roman Church, indeed, listened to his concerns and reformed their heavy-handed approach to the collection and dissemination of theological teachings regarding the indulgences.
This was no reason to form a schism within the Church, or corrupt the scriptures as Luther did relentlessly, in his blasphemic removal of ecclesiastical texts and blatant (sola) fidae corruption. It went on back and forth for a very long time and has never been resolved. Only until, like, 1980 did Catholics and Lutherans finally agree on what "sola fide" means.
Trent fails to address many Lutheran talking points, including going so far as to say that salvation by faith alone is "anathema." Their words. To say that is to deny the Gospel.
