This line of thinking is why everything’s going to shit. Politics isn’t meant to be a game where you strategically decide when to step forward and when not. It’s meant to be a debate, a dialogue, an argument, where everyone is doing their most, all of the time, to lead the nation into a better future, all of the time. This is why democracies and republics are bad. It always devolves into a shitty little game where the winning strategy is to be intellectually dishonest. Where the figureheads are not leaders, but just talking heads, who only care about making the “safe” political choices so they don’t risk re election. Monarchy is the answer. There should be one ruling bloodline, and if they stop acting like Kings and begin acting like Tyrants, we kill them and their whole bloodline, and choose a new bloodline to rule. Democracy and republic is why we have the “13 families”
