It's too difficult to say since we don't know what technology they posses. For all we know they can have weapons more powerful than nukes and impenetrable shields or it could end quite undramatic with us shooting down their spacecraft with missiles.

Imagine Earth had no cataclysmic events, we could be 100s of millions of years more advanced. There probably are planets that got lucky like that. Aliens beyond time and space, aliens with interstellar capabilities. I'd expect there to be some sort of intergalactic federations and rules that are as developed as their technology and other capabilities. There could be some malevolent aliens as well and a scary thought is that there could be marauders similar to somalipirates on this planet, but instead of rubberboats and AKs they could enslave or blowup this whole planet for no reason.

We are already treading towards cybernetics, AI etc. They would be beyond biology if they're even physical anymore. Current AI is based on binary code and humans think in binaries. Either something is true or false, our brains, communication and language isn't built for the grey area which is what most of everything is. We don't have the processing power to run advanced calculations and we cut corners all the time for convenience and necessity. We are developing voice to skull technology, so they would be telepathic and could most likely just run a program into the minds of people if necessary.
