This. It was probably around 2013 right after Obama was just reelected. I lived in a blueish area on the East Coast and remember very clearly that people could openly talk about how they voted for Romney and disliked Obama and wouldn’t fear getting cancelled.

At highschool in the 2000s cognitive dissonance started setting in. We had the whole metrosexual craze (straight guys that act like faggots). What I was being taught in school wasn't meeting my experiences in my part-time workplace.
When I acted the way I was told by society to act I wouldn't get laid, when I acted like a chauvinist pig I was swimming in pussy.
That was when I first realised something was up. However I was was still a lefty blue pulled faggot atheist. It wasn't until gamer-gate that everything made sense.

covid and lockdowns was another dramatic shift, probably too early to see all of its implications but it feels like that 2 year stint set a dangerous precedent for just how easy it is to manipulate the masses.
it feels like politics and media has gone full tilt since with their propaganda and fear mongering and consumerism has been ramped up to the point where the average citizen is being treated with an absurd level of contempt now. its become so pervasive and a larger portion of society are well aware what their elites are up to but can do little more than get demoralized about it. meanwhile the rest of society are going about their business more sheepish, more docile, more skittish, and if you try to talk about something redpilled to them, you can almost hear the windows shutdown sound coming from their brain
