The DC machine is optimized to roll politicians into lobbyist/insider roles as soon as they 'retire'. Term limits wouldn't do a damn thing, just move some profit taking earlier in their career. The only way to limit their power is by actually LIMITING their power. Take away as much of Congress's ability to sell power and they'll be less valuable/dangerous.
Term limits is just moving the deck chairs around.

It's pointless. It would just empower permanent Washington even more than it is now. Congressional staff would just wait out the incumbent any time they disagreed, just as they do with the executive.

How about instead of every 4 years one election for 8 years for PotUS and everyone else, hopscotch every 4.
Save millions of taxpayer dollars in security and first responders, fuel, travel, etc. Only having elections every 8 years

It would do some good, but what you really need are term limits for every single employee, not just the elected ones. Otherwise the staff who stay as politicians come and go will have even more power and influence than they already do
