I live in a Victorian manor with very high ceilings so my house is cool in the summer outside of the one room that used to house the staff and has low ceilings.

SW USA heat isn't a big deal, the lack of humidity and the cool nights means you barely fucking sweat.
SE USA heat is a big deal because of the high humidity, it will stay hot and humid at night too and it's 5-10x worse on your body. you need lots more water, lots more calories and the average person still will succumb to heat stroke until they're accustomed to it AND tough.
anyone can take the SW heat, it's just dry heat, you guys would die in alabama next week where we have 100 degree/high humidity days all week long.
