If I buy a van, a mattress, a rice cooker, and an air fryer or something, coupled with a $10/month planet fitness subscription for showers/workout/wifi, how long can I last? I have a single M9 and plenty of ammo as well. All my entertainment would come from my books and my writing. How many years will I be able to survive before I run out of money and kill myself?

For water I have a purifier. But the most isolated lake near me was a dumping ground called nuclear lake, and I once caught a two headed pike there. So I will probably need to find a better spot

I wish I could learn, but my Chief mate and captain are even more incompetent and corrupt. Like, I have no doubt in my mind they would murder me underway and throw my body over the side of it benefited them.

Do it, money will be useless soon. Buy everything you need for a self-sustaining life. If you want to live a van life, stock up on a lot of gas now, it will only keep getting more expensive until it runs out. If I were you right now with that kind of money, I would find acres of cheap but fertile rural land with a water source and start homesteading. Park your van and/or a small trailer on it, get solar panels, a goat, some chickens for eggs, plant a garden, etc. Make sure you invest now in all of the tools you'll need for gardening and building. A few more weapons are a good idea too. Try to find a rural community that can help you out so you're not completely alone in this endeavor. Best of luck.

For an officer? Maritime colleges like SUNY or Cal are the best options. But if you want to go in as an ordinary seaman, it’s very easy to get in. I recommend going to the maritime general on /n/ and reading the sticky.
