Nobody knows its engine but from the combat against US airforce over South China Sea, J-20 can catch up F-35 from the back without being known, and it was the reconnaissance aircraft of the US detected J-20, which means F-35 can’t detect J-20 with its radar being active. And J-30 in under way of being equipped within 2-3 years with the newest Fluorescent Stealth Paint. Stop saying J-20 is a crap by the number of its sell to other countries since China won’t sell it.

Tbh as a Chinese I don’t fell anything bad about the conventional power since it’s enough for the use of reunifying Taiwan within the first island chain and US’s nuclear-powered is good for them but in a close battle like Taiwan they will be no advantages and it has already shown its electromagnetic catapults not effective.

The J-20 will not be used on their carriers. China is currently introducing the FC-31 These are 5th gen multirole jets designed to be used on carriers.
