They hated poles btw lol. Basically they initially fought for Germans, but then were quickly disillusioned by their plans and just fought everyone(germans, soviets, poles).
Idk about other countries, but there were about 1 million soviet collaborators. Most of them weren't really as epic as OP describes, mostly rear echelon troops and local militia forcefully recruited from POWs.
