BBC and a libshit media managed to find 3000~ confirmations of soldier or volunteer death here by 31st of may if I remember correctly; the bulk had to be from the early showy, pretty pushes that cost us a lot of manpower and equipment. And, naturally, the 3000 figure wouldn't include all dead soldiers, nor does it include POWs. Ultimately I'd say Ukies are losing 5x our men, at the very least. Ukraine has sustained in that time between: 11800-29500 KIA 35400-59000 WIA
Starting force was 66,000 regular army Ukrainians heavily entrenched in eight years worth of prepared defences who were reinforced by unknown numbers of mercenaries, foreign volunteers and territorial units. Likely an enormous number due to to Zelenskyy's call to arms about Donbass being the key to victory. As it took a while to break through the defence line, the Ukies probably rushed 100k+ territorials into the Donbass and its outlying regions.
If the higher end of the range is the more accurate one then it's utterly staggering in scale for an offensive phase in the 21st century in just 59 days of fighting. It does line up with the regime desperately bringing in thousands of reinforcements from 700 miles away to try and hold the line. It makes the higher end more and more likely as it indicates severe manpower problems from death,injury,sickness, capture and desertion.
Aswell as the fact the remaining regular combat units have all withdrawn(as of 14th June when the evacuation began) from both Severodonetsk and Lyschansk rushing to the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk line which is now heavily at risk from the north flank. They've left behind the foreig volunteers, mercenaries and territorial cannon fodder to hold the Russians as long as possible at Severodonetsk-Lyschansk.
