Probably, by suffering less and having more contact with normal people you tend to have more npc opinions, besides that something that is very important when learning certain things is suffering, people when suffering first get depressed, but then they meditate on themselves, on their actions and how they could have been better, which leads you to learn for yourself much harder lessons that you would not have gotten otherwise.
