It's not an outlier either, go look for yourself all down the mexican coast, if they've even cleared the land at all it's just farms right up til the dunes. Meanwhile, 250 miles north wouldn't even get you to Houston, and anywhere along the gulf coast (much less the atlantic or pacific coasts) that isn't an environmental reservation is not only spoken for, it costs a life's work just to glimpse the ocean from your own property. It's not just mexico, there are millions of acres of oceanfront property in the western hemisphere, much less around the world, that no one can think of anything better to do with than farm, if they even do anything with it at all. I'm not talking about just jungle, road-inaccessible land either. Don't even look at africa, that quadruples the counts.
Meanwhile 250 miles north from brownsville my fucking beautiful white generational compatriots are stuck in $2k/month shithole apartments spending half of their paycheck to tip mr shekelsburg.
