China also has a larger industrial base with the ability to churn out more weaponry than the U.S. could dream of.
The only thing saving Taiwan is its massive arsenal of anti-ship missiles and defensive geography. The US would not intervene to save it, it knows it can’t beat China in the pacific without resorting to nuclear war.
