Good evening OP, excellent topic! Whereas it isn't logical to instantly reject any ideas, I can instead explain why it is so widely offensive;
* Nationalizing a country's industries eventually results in the irregular diversion of goods. This is also called a command economy. (i.e.: a factory district that once produced goods for one region, may now be demanded to distribute amongst 3).
*All of the above "command" is strictly by the authority of the government. This can also lead to the subject businesses to operate at a loss without having say.
Do you see how this will lead to issues? We tend to think of socialism as high taxes and healthcare. The reality is much larger.
