Education does not blight a man's life. A Lawyer is almost guaranteed to make 6 figures. A software engineer averages $60-80k. Many such cases.
However, degrees in poly-sci or those who go to school for Field A but work in Field B often struggle. Post-Secondary Education must be undertaken with purpose. But most people out of Secondary (High School) are sold on a bag of lies and end up with $50k in debt.
Parasitism exists but it doesn't exceed a 1:1. That would cause a systemic collapse overnight. But I would wager is around a 1:5, which is still a major burden on the system.
And yes, lack of Honor and legitimacy in society is causing major problems at every corner.
People want $20/hr because that is a "livable" wage when all factors are played in. I call them retards, but they are products of the system, really. It is an ouroboros cycle, never ending and self-consuming. Cost of living rises, so people want more pay, therefore cost of living rises because business and services must charge more to cover costs. That's the lamen of it, anyways.
