Netflix subscriptions cost $10 a month. In the past 6 years my dads house has gone up 200k and its not a big house either. For me to afford the jump in housing I would have to to have "saved" money from netflix for about 1650 years just to cover the difference in home ownership, not even the original cost. The gap between median income and median house price is the widest it has ever been. When boomers started working houses were 2 to 4 times their annual wages. Now houses are 10-15 times the annual wages.

Yeah as someone from a wealthy family I can say that the “stop buying shit” is bullshit. I don’t know how poor people get by AND buy the useless shit they do, but I can say, as someone’s who’s lifestyle is financed by rich people and Gods blessings, it’s still nearly impossible to afford anything big like a house.

Even just paying rent with what wages are is absurd. Say you make 10 dollars an hour, work 40 hour weeks, and pay the average 1500 in rent or rent+food in a month, that leaves you with 2,800 for everything else for the year.
Using these numbers, if someone saved up for 10 years, they would have 28,000 for a down payment on a house. This is all well and good, but most retards have college debt or other things to pay off.
And this is assuming you work this way for 10 years.
If you ever take a vacation or buy a few fun things you will essentially wipe out your progress for the year, and if your getting Starbucks daily you’re fucked.

If you don’t have a “side hustle” or some sort of get rich quick investment then enjoy working for 40 years to pay off your home.

This doesn't include the base cost of the home btw, it is just the increase in housing prices over the past few years.
