I spent my childhood and teenage years hanging out with friends and gaming, not programming. I feel like I can't start now as an adult that absolutely needs their activities to make them income asap.

Just keep trying user.. I had a 4 year gap in work history and got a job as a hospital janny making $20 an hour in flyover country. Religious exemption for the jab got accepted 20 mins after filing, and the mask thing hides my shitty teeth from the hot 18 y/o tail until it's too late for them. Try and work at a LOCAL grocery store if you're absolutely dying for cash, and just keep applying to the positions you want while you kill time at that job (Or apply at walmart and steal like fuck from them)
