The truth is that Canada is the whore of the United States first, and then it is the whore of China. But the United States influences the culture in Canada far more than any other country, and so I wonder what are the possible implications of the inevitable internal conflict and balkanisation of the United States here in our land.
Will such a process in our southern neighbours strengthen separatist sentiment within Canada? Would Alberta and Saskatchewan consider joining a new geopolitical formation with Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, etc? Would Quebec find the will to separate from the rest of the federation and finally create an independent francophone nation in North America?
Or would it be the complete opposite? Watching the United States fall into chaos, will the provinces unite and make the federation the strongest ever? Perhaps this scenario is possible considering that Canada's ethos and to be the opposite of the United States at any cost, even to the detriment of the population.

To be quite honest Quebec "let" themselves be enslaved because France didn't give a fuck and sent only token reinforcements during the war. They "let" themselves be enslaved the same way Ukrainians are "letting" themselves be enslaved by Russians. When your enemy outnumbers you 10:1 and all you got are farmers and natives there's nothing much you can do. Also although I'm not francophone myself I do appreciate the fact that they were able to preserve their language and culture considering the eternal Anglo who tried to assimilate them for two centuries. It's an achievement by itself.
