What do you mean by "unrealistic"? They're perfectly legal to buy in Amerikkka. They also work fine and are reliable. They were developed to be a backup sidearm for the FN P90 during the 1980s and 1990s due to the proliferation of body armor. The key to defeating body armor is bullet construction and velocity. And so they basically created a miniature 5.56 assault rifle round that could be used in a submachine gun and pistol. The armor piercing rounds are loaded hot and have steel penetrators in them I think. They're supposed to be for police and military only, but civilians can buy them as well. And even the normal civilian rounds are still capable of defeating soft body armor.
The pros of the FN Five-seveN are decades of proven reliability, round capacity (I think the magazines hold 20 rounds), low recoil, and light weight.
The cons are poor stopping power, excessive blast, bad trigger, outdated ergonomics, and the high price of both the pistol and the ammo.
Lots of soldiers who actually had to use the FN P90 complained of poor stopping power. You basically have to dump 20 rounds into someone to drop them reliably since the rounds are so small.
