It could be, russians are not bothering much in that forest, they ahve drones there, detect when Ukranians try to cross the river and shell them from 30km away, it has not been a firmly held are by russians since never, cause holding positions there means being in reach of UAF artillery but not in the current positions (since they would have to move the systems across the river) So basically all that forest is no mans land, but on russian fire control

That's the official Ukrainian number, yes. But then really in war you double or triple the number of casualties taken any side claims, specially when it's still ongoing. So 600 dead and 2.4k wounded is not out of the question here. Every single day since phase two began.
